LITERACY IN THE MIDDLE
As part of Houston ISD's Literacy in the Middle continues the work founded in Literacy by 3 to support the literacy
lives of our 6-8 students. We will transform literacy instruction across all disciplines so
students may engage in content both at their ability and grade levels.
Supporting students
with individualized instruction will ensure that all students are highly prepared for college and career choices.
Please feel free to encourage your students to read daily. You can also email us at info@ysafe.org or call us at 713-654-1400.
YSAFE ONLINE RESOURCES!!
At Young Scholars we encourage our children to use all the tools at their disposal to advance learning. This means
once students leave us here they can go online anytime to further their knowledge independently.
Every Houston ISD Student has an online username and password that the district has provided for them to access the HoustonISD Hub.
They can also log on and do extra Reading, Writing, Math, Science or Social Studies work like they do here at school. Please encourage your child(ren) to use these tools
Log-in credentials for HoustonISD HUB are available on the HISD website and credentials for all other tools are available from your childs teacher
Feel free to contact us at 713-654-1400 or e-mail us at info@ysafe.org if you have any questions
ELEMENTARY LITERACY
It starts by building a strong foundation in reading, writing, and speaking during the elementary years—ensuring every child
is reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade.
A key component of our literacy efforts include engaging families, community members, and businesses to become involved. All of us must become literacy leaders. The future of our children, our city, and our quality of life will be determined by this movement’s success.
Feel free to contact us at 713-654-1400 or e-mail us at info@ysafe.org if you have any questions
